"...our denominations share the basic truths of the Apostle's Creed.
That's plenty of common ground to speak on."

Does your church need pulpit supply?

Men's fellowship speaker? Missions Speaker?

Live in NW Washington State or BC's Lower Mainland?

Phil DuFrene is an ordained Baptist minister but he has spoken in numerous evangelical and mainline denominational churches.

As an endorsed chaplain he is sensitive to audiences of mixed faiths, cultures and social backgrounds.

"I believe our denominations share the basic truths of the Apostle's Creed.
That's plenty of common ground to speak on...I'll leave the rest to your
        pastor."

Phil applies the eternal truths of Scripture to everyday life.

"The Bible message is as alive today as it was when God gave it to it's
writers. The story may be old but it's validity is proved every day in the lives
of people around us. You need to be able to use today's message today."

Every message is fresh and original.

"How can it excite you if it doesn't excite me first? The fizz is gone if I simply
pull out an old sermon and say it again."

He took his Bible training at Moody Bible Institute and Crown College. His messages start with Biblical truth. Then he applies more than forty years ministry and work experience to explain it in today's context.

"Bible training laid the foundation...but I learned most of it the hard way.
Study hard, find the context, cross reference...stick with the basics, don't
go off on tangents, listen to others carefully and sort out the hype from
the truth. Then live it and see what happens."

He and his wife, Debbie, have served in missions since 1976, first in Indonesia as a missionary pilot, and later in northern Canada. They worked with Campus Crusade for Christ's JESUS Film Project for 15 years, which took him to more than 20 countries.

In 2002 they started Port of Hope Ministries  as an outreach to seafarers on international cargo vessels.

He is a Civil War re-enactor who portrays a Union Battlefield chaplain.

        "A true
test of a person's faith is when they have to face the real world.
What they hear in church on Sunday better work on Monday! That's the
        pastor's challenge."

He is happily married to Debbie, and they have three great sons, a wonderful daughter-in-law and three grandkids.

"I'll work with your pastor, church council or elders to make sure your
denominational values and worship style are respected and your
        congregation is spiritually fed."

Phil lives along the US-Canadian border in northwest Washington. He has 'dual nationality' and can serve in the US and Canada.

"There are two things I don't do: 'hellfire and brimstone' preaching, and
singing solos. Some good stories and respectful humor work better."
